Hi, interesting article. I like to understand your thought on this question. In Traditional Business Model, License fee paid upfront and commitment is there for some years till the product furthur mature/enhancement. But in Saas Model, we can try with minimum subscription fee, hence switching cost is less in terms of Tool as well as Human Resource (hire a person with new tool knowledge). We have to pitch the product with good maturity otherwise it will be easily replaced. could you please share your thought here.
Of course, it is easy for Adobe since it is only converting from Traditional to SaaS (already have trust). But new entrants is going to face tough competition in SaaS with new product launch (switching will be frequent).
Outstanding post giving a better understanding of critical aspects of IT business. Very well explained, different elements of IT Products & IT Services business. Adequately illustrated various stages, cost, revenues models, profits etc of IT product business in the pictorial format. Look forward to more...
Excellent article giving insight especially into IT products. Appreciate the work done in getting the details..looking forward to get many such insights.
I look forward to your write-ups.The insights are top-notch. I am not a techie and researching on software(service+product) companies gobbles up a lot of time in understanding the ABC of the said industry. I was able to connect a lot of dots post reading this.
